“Yeah, very much so…” without thinking, Kiba reached over to dust the loose grass from her back. Realizing what he was doing, he immediately retracted his arm. “Sorry, you uh, had grass… Gaara was happy… he was in a relationship… we hung out all the time… I don’t know what set him off.”
She slightly flinched when Kiba had touched her back, but had forgotten his actions when he had mentioned her younger brother. She had started to grow worried for her sibling. “… Set him off?” Temari repeated Kiba’s words quietly. “I guess he’s always been like that. He didn’t have the best childhood.” A cloud covered the sun making the weather seem a little gray. “I guess I wasn’t the best sister either.”
“Yeah… He kind of just disappeared. Neji hasn’t even seen him…” Kiba let the Hyuuga’s name slip even though he didn’t know if Temari knew about him. He watched as a cloud slipped in front of the sun. “Forget about then. You can make up for it now.” Kiba gave her a reassuring smile.
“I guess I should. Wherever he is now, I hope he’s happy.” She played Kiba’s words over again in her head. “Neji? You mean Neji Hyuuga? I think I remember him.” Temari thought about it for a moment. “Gaara. With him? Woah. I didn’t see that one coming, but no too bad. From what I’ve heard, Neji’s a nice guy.” She immediately cupped a hand to her mouth. “Wait, was I supposed to know?” She gasped. “Is it a secret?” Gaara had never told her about his love life when they were younger and Temari felt proud that her brother had found himself in a relationship.
Kiba shrugged. “I… don’t know… Don’t tell him I told you just in case.” He laughed. “Gaara will come back… eventually. He’s got to.” The Inuzuka rolled onto his back again to look at the sky.
